About
The first International School connected to the Cyberwal initiative proudly welcomes the fourth edition of the Cyberwal in Galaxia Academy.
From December 8 to 12, 2025, the province of Luxembourg will host over 200 participants from across the globe, primarily from Europe — researchers, students, professionals, and leading experts in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
This edition will once again serve as a unique platform where knowledge, innovation, and collaboration converge at the Galaxia site in Transinne, a hub dedicated to space, digital technologies, and the future of cybersecurity.
To address cybersecurity challenges and cybercrime threats, Wallonia has launched a cybersecurity policy named “Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia.” This initiative, part of the Walloon Recovery Plan, supports specific actions including research, innovation, and education within an “excellence hub”.
This school is the result of the ambition and determination of IDELUX and its partners. Its goal is to develop, over the long term, a high-level international training center that not only delivers cutting-edge knowledge but also fosters collaboration across sectors.
The program is designed and guided under the authority of a multidisciplinary scientific committee, bringing together experts from academia, companies, and public institutions. Their diverse expertise guarantees both the scientific excellence and the practical relevance of the Academy, positioning it as a benchmark in the fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation.
The Cyberwal initiative positions the Wallonia Region as a key player in Belgian regional cybersecurity policy. Thanks to the vision of IDELUX and its partners, what was once an ambition is rapidly becoming a reality, evolving swiftly to address both current and future cybersecurity challenges at national and transnational levels.
The ultimate goal is to place Wallonia firmly on the global cybersecurity map, establishing it as a hub of excellence recognized far beyond its borders. Future editions of the Cyberwal in Galaxia Academy will further this ambition, achieving a European dimension of excellence while staying directly aligned with the fast-evolving needs of the international cyber ecosystem.
It is at the ESEC Centre in Redu that the European Space Agency (ESA) has chosen to establish its Cybersecurity Operations Centre. This strategic decision places Wallonia at the heart of Europe’s efforts to safeguard space infrastructures.
The Centre is tasked with ensuring the cyber protection of ESA’s ground-based systems and airborne activities, defending critical operations against evolving digital threats.
Beyond its operational role, the Centre also embodies ESA’s ambition to strengthen Europe’s resilience, sovereignty, and leadership in space cybersecurity, making Redu a key site in the international cyber and space ecosystem.
